Pierre is a very experienced Public Health expert, immunisation, Health System Strengthening (HSS), Health Service Delivery, Human Resources for Health (HRH), Disease Surveillance, Policy, Planning, Health Information Systems (HMIS), Health Financing, Immunisation Supply Chain, and Health Supply Chain transformation professional with 20+ years of experience in public health and immunisation. He is very knowledgeable about immunisation programmes, programme implementation, strategic leadership, and Grants Management, M&E, vaccine delivery, Domestic Resources Mobilisation (DRM), sustainability, political engagement, diplomacy and strategic communication.
He led four (4) major USAID public health flagship programmes (USAID-SCMS, USAID-DELIVER, USAID-SIAPS, USAID-GHSC) and provided leadership to the Gavi Alliance as a Director for Vaccines Supply Chain/Delivery, Coordination, and Integration (COVAX). Pierre has also served as a member and Vice-Chair of the IRC (Independent Review Committee) of the Gavi Alliance, which advises the CEO & the Board of Directors (BoD) of Gavi on strategic directions regarding vaccine management, focusing on immunisation programmes, HSS, programme implementation, and supply chain Management. Pierre provided Technical Assistance to the Gavi Alliance, The Global Fund (TGF), UNFPA, USAID, DFID, EU, UNAIDS, UNICEF, Africa CDC, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), the World Bank, and The African Union (AU). He served in more than 70 countries, spanning the West & Central Africa Region, the East African Community, SADC, ECOWAS, Asia, and Latin America. Countries of experience include, inter alia, Cameroon, Senegal, the Ivory Coast, Tanzania, Rwanda, Haiti, Burundi, Ghana, Gabon, Benin, Mauritius, Kenya, Ethiopia, Italy, the UK, and the USA. Pierre also serves as a Visiting Lecturer in Immunisation & Global Health Diplomacy at the University of Geneva, School of Medicine, Institute of Global Health.
Education: Pierre holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Supply Chain Management from the prestigious University of Cambridge (UK), a Certificate in Strategic Planning from the University of Oxford (UK), a Masters’ degree in Project Management & Development, a Masters’ degree in Management Economics (with a specialisation in Health Economics), a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration from the Jesuit Catholic University of Central Africa (Cameroon) and a Bachelors’ degree in Philosophy from the Jesuit Gregorian University in Rome, Italy.
